PEOPLE'S CHOICE - VOTING open jan 9 - mar 8

People’s Choice is an optional competition within the Miss Oak Harbor Scholarship Pageant. As a fundraiser, this competition is completely separate from the pageant point system and has no bearing on the outcome of the overall pageant results. It does, however, provide an opportunity for the public to vote for their favorite contestant. The contestant with the most votes wins People’s Choice, receives a crown and sash, and takes home a college scholarship equivalent to half of all People’s Choice votes. 

The scholarship amount is completely dependent upon the total number of People’s Choice votes but typically ranges between $1500 and $2500. One year, the winner took home $8777 to support her educational dreams! 

The other half of the money goes to Whidbey Royalty to aid in providing the many scholarships the organization will award this year. Since 2015, Whidbey Royalty has delivered more than $173,000 in scholarships and awards to high schoolers in our community. People’s Choice fundraising goes a long way in providing those scholarships! 

Contestants will personally thank each of their supporters, and you will know that you have made a tax-deductible donation to an amazing organization here in Oak Harbor. Your votes will support many contestants in this year’s pageant!

Votes are collected online through the Whidbey Royalty website at WhidbeyRoyalty.org. Click on the People’s Choice page, scroll to the bottom, and click on your favorite contestant’s picture to vote with your dollars. Every tax-deductible one-dollar donation equals one vote.
